Lakeside Acres

Lakeside Acres surrounds the former Lake Elaine inside Continental Country Club, on Flagstaff's east side. The man-made lake, built in the 1970s, stopped holding water, and its costs were central to the club's 2021 bankruptcy, according to the Arizona Daily Sun. In 2022 members approved a special assessment and a dues increase, with the lake to be either deeded to the lakefront owners or turned into a preserve of ponds and walking trails. Streets include Lakepoint Way, Green Mountain Drive, Lake Hills Drive, Skyview Street, and Lake Country Road.

Lakeside Acres buyers are usually after land and a custom home without leaving city limits. We look at the lot's sewer or septic, what the club's rules allow, and the lake bed's status before we talk price.

Because fewer than ten homes sold here in the last twelve months, these figures cover the last three years. The MLS shows 23 closings, 8 of them in the last twelve months. The 17 single-family homes sold from $1,025,000 to $2,750,000, with a median of $1,515,000 and the middle half between about $1,365,000 and $1,825,000; the typical one was about 3,750 square feet, built around 1991, on about 1.3 acres. Six townhomes, built 1985 to 1987, sold from $580,000 to $750,000, with a median of $668,500. Median days on market was 64.

Continental Country Club runs the Bear Paw Recreation Center, with a heated outdoor pool in season, a hot tub, and a snack bar, and its golf course and The Oakmont restaurant, in the clubhouse, are open to the public. MLS listings flag some larger lots on Skyview Street and Lake Hills Drive as allowing horses, and a local brokerage says horses are allowed in Lakeside Acres. Whether the lake-bed preserve planned in 2022 has been built could not be confirmed from public sources in September 2026.
